Chardonnay
Bodyguard Chardonnay is a tribute to Marie Daou, Georges & Daniel Daou's mother, who was a beacon of strength during hard times. She led her family through war and darkness and shone with a grace within chaos.
In her honor, we have partnered with women around the globe who also exemplify this same strength and grace. Each custom, limited edition item featured is handcrafted specifically for DAOU by inspirational women artists around the globe.
Custom Glass Sets
We partnered with a woman artist and business owner in Canada. The art on these glasses was custom made to reflect the light of Marie Daou that shone through the darkness. Each wine glass was hand-made exclusively for DAOU with a unique cracked gold foiling, representing the light shining through the cracks. Due to the nature of the art, each glass is unique, just like the women in our lives who give us strength within chaos.
Handmade Scarf
We have partnered with Sevya Fair Trade to create a custom Bodyguard Chardonnay scarf. Sevya employs women embroidery artisans in Northern India who do hand-embroidery in their own homes. This flexibility enables the women to earn a sustainable livelihood from their craft while also caring for their families.
This beautiful scarf is made from Cupro, an eco-friendly, fabric that has the look and feel of silk yet is breathable and easy to wash.
Special Edition Candle
For this special edition Bodyguard Chardonnay Candle, we partnered with Bright Endeavors in Chicago. This non-profit company hires young mothers in their community and trains them in a vocation. The products produced are then sold, with all the profits going to the mothers, their young families, and communities.
As a part of the partnership, Bright Endeavors created an exclusive DAOU soy candle that perfectly captures the scent of Lavender rolling over DAOU Mountain.
