The 2016 Eye of the Falcon is an intense dark violet color which provides a first look into the immense power and depth of this wine. Vivid, compelling aromas of cherry, black raspberry and currant combined with subtle accents of pomegranate, kirsch and pencil lead while laced with cigar box, dried flowers, toffee and warm leather. Bright, juicy and concentrated fruit flavors immediately burst on the palate showcasing Bing cherries, blackberries, cassis and cranberry, with notes of blueberry and dark chocolate. Crushed dried herbs, sandalwood and toasty oak integrate seamlessly with the lush dark fruits. Bold, assertive, richly layered and elegantly textured, the mid-palate exhibits a graceful evolution from pure and luscious fruit to complex layers of exotic herbs, spice and roasted almonds. This wine has a well-rounded structure that transitions to a long, vibrant finish of black cherry, boysenberry and plum–signifying great aging potential.
