The 2013 DAOU Estate Mayote is extreme from beginning to end. The wine is intensely pigmented and concentrated in aroma. Graphite and granite-like minerality harmonize with dark spice and aromas of mature blueberry and black plum. Blackberries greet the palate in a bold performance that includes peppercorn, cedar box, tobacco leaf, ash and licorice. The flavors come together for a finish that is unmistakable in depth and complexity. This wine will be remembered for a long time and will bring increased reward and pleasure with a few years of aging.
