“My mom instilled in me the importance of having something on the table for guests as soon as they walk in,” she says. “We have a big family with an array of preferences. A Festive Cheese and Charcuterie Board is the perfect solution."

As DAOU’s Associate Director of Experiential Marketing, Jenna Kujundzich makes an art of creating memorable ways for our guests to connect with DAOU.

So it comes as no surprise when Jenna shares that she grew up with a mom who is always the quintessential holiday hostess who taught her the language of hospitality.

My mom instilled in me the importance of having something on the table for guests as soon as they walk in,” she says. “We have a big family with an array of preferences. A Festive Cheese and Charcuterie Board is the perfect solution and it’s my choice for DAOU’s holiday dinner series.”

One of Jenna’s favorite holiday traditions is her mom’s Christmas tablecloth. It reads, “All I want for Christmas is...” and each family members signs their name and their dream gift for the year ahead.

“After sharing a beautiful meal together, we clear our plates and take turns reading past tablecloth entries. It is so special to see how our family has grown, from asking Santa for toys to wishing for college acceptance letters, this tablecloth has become a time capsule for our family to cherish and add to each year,” Jenna says. “This year, my mom gave me my own tablecloth. I am so excited to continue this family tradition on my own dining room table and start a whole new tablecloth worth of memories.”

Watch Jenna's Story:

Jenna picks out her cheeses first, making sure to choose both hard (such as Parmesan) and soft cheeses (like Brie) made with a variety of goat, sheep or cow milk. This becomes the centerpiece of her board. She then surrounds it with concentrically placed meats, fruits, vegetables and nuts, all swept with a garnish of olive oil or honey.

She says that the trick to pleasing diverse palates is to have a range of nibbles that pair well with whatever wine her guests want to drink. Jenna likes how the DAOU Sauvignon Blanc pairs with some of the mild, soft textured cheeses, while the acidity of the DAOU Rosé complements more earthy, nutty cheeses. The DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon is also a beautiful match for her selection of meats on the board.
